1986 Cherry Coke Robot
After yesterday’s Pepsi and Imperial transforming robot toys from 1985 is there any better way to continue the fun than with this 1986 toy? The Cherry Coke robot on eBay is all gone, but the pics are spectacular and I’m now left wondering if this offer ever made its way to the US. I certainly don’t remember ever seeing promotions for this toy!
Looks like a fantastic design, and a little digging around revealed that the canmuseum.com site has a page showing the offer as printed on Cherry Coke cans. The eBay auction was from the UK, the offer shown is from the UK, and the other instance of the toy I found on eBay was also from the UK. Was this even offered in the US?

That looks like a very solid transforming robot for its era too.
And I can’t remember ever seeing this on American shores.
There’s some of the Cherry Coke one still on eBay, but this regular-version of Coke looks pretty cool. If it had hip articulation, I might pick one up. 🙂

@Blayne – Makes me wonder if a factory got its hands on the tooling and made some generic bots. Time to dig deeper into Google images!
