Review – Matchbox Sky Busters Twin Blast
It looks like the latest wave of Matchbox Sky Busters toy planes (Amazon.com search*) is on the shelves, and with a new wave comes repaints of previous jets . . . like this Firefox-inspired Twin Blast toy plane. We’ve already looked at an earlier colorway of this toy (review here), so this review is pretty much nothing but photos of the repaint.
Have fun! (Click any of the below photos to enlarge the image.)
New Tampos
Other than the obvious big color difference, the new Sky Busters Twin Blast has a few new tampo designs along the plane’s fuselage. The wing design elements and the number tampo printed on both versions are the same pattern, but the tiny details along the top are completely different; the new one even has “Twin” and “Blast” tampo printed along the mid-section (you can see it in one of the below pics). It’s a tiny new detail, but this shows Mattel takes the Sky Busters line seriously and is willing to sink a little money into minor cosmetic tweaks to the designs.
Closing Thoughts
There’s really not a lot to say about a toy I’ve already reviewed before, so I’ll just keep my mouth shut. If you like what you see and want to give the Matchbox Sky Busters toy planes (Amazon.com search*) a shot then you may also want to see my earlier reviews:
