Review – Peter Kato’s Resin Spaceship Robot

1.25-inches tall and one-piece, this resin robot by Peter Kato (blog) was picked up at NYCC last year and is a small, simple design that would be great as part of a group of little robots. Unfortunately, I could only get one so for now this guy sits in the display with other toys . . . but if I can I will grab some more of them because this one’s too cute to be all alone.

Transform!

The pics show both forms of the robot. Stand him on his feet and he’s ready to attack, but rotate him and lay him down and you’ve got a spaceship. It’s as simple as you can go with a transforming robot toy, but as a tiny resin toy that seems to work just fine. Think of it as a M.U.S.C.L.E.-like transforming robot toy. This guy should really be hiding inside capsule machines since the design — and size — would work great if he was made of a cheap plastic and sold for a couple of quarters.

There’s really not a lot to say when the toy is this small and simple in its design so I’ll let the photos do all of the work for me. I think the best way to get my thoughts across is to say that I want more of these — there were other designs at the show — and will buy them if I ever run across the toys again. It’s fun.
