Iron Spider-Man Statue at Sideshow Collectibles . . . Only $300

This Iron Spider-Man statue from Sideshow Collectibles clearly demonstrates exactly why some comic fans choose to collect high-end statues.

2-feet tall, this statue shows just how cool the Iron Man-created Iron Spider-Man armor looks. This page at Wikipedia outlines the suit’s powers, if you’re unfamiliar with the costume and want some background.

“After Spider-Man’s newer powers developed in “The Other”, Tony Stark (Iron Man) developed a new suit for Peter, which he began wearing in The Amazing Spider-Man #529. Nicknamed the “Iron Spider” costume, it is red and gold: according to Marvel Editor-In-Chief Joe Quesada, “Stark’s design, Stark’s color!” The suit was designed by Quesada, based on a sketch by Chris Bachalo. The suit’s appearance has had a mixed reception from fans.”

Regardless of how it looks, and the fact that I have bought a few statues, $300 is just way too much for me to spend on an inanimate statue. I would love to see a 3.75-inch scale Marvel Universe action figure of this armor, though.

  1. @Joem — Yeah, this is coming to the Marvel Universe line. That’s gonna be great. My Iron Man/IM-related armor collection continues to grow.
