Radio Controlled R2-D2 in the 1980 Kenner Toy Fair Catalog

We’ve seen a number of different newspaper ads for the Kenner Radio Controlled R2-D2 toy (here, here, and here), so the toy shouldn’t be new to you. Unfortunately, all of those grainy, B&W newspaper ads cannot truly display the awesomeness of the toy, so we’re forced to turn to this page of the 1980 Kenner Toy Fair Catalog for a bit better look at one of those toys I wanted decades ago. I never got one, but is it any surprise that I wanted one so very badly in the late seventies?
