Section 28

It’s risky, but Glyaxia Command needs to know what’s happening on the planet and you can’t afford to take a chance waiting for the signal to appear again. Maneuvering yourself behind the remains of a heavily-modified Deep Space Rig -- you need to catalog that design, since it’s one you don’t recognize -- you magnetically attach yourself to the larger chunk of metal and cross your fingers in hopes that the debris shields you from any of Grimwave’s sensor systems.

“Here goes nothing,” you think as you pulse burst a search signal directed at the planet. Your own scan penetrates the planet’s surface, uncovering ruined cities, abandoned military bases, and forgotten landing fields all in a fraction of a second. But, more importantly, you identify a dark spot on the planet’s surface. Something is shielding your systems from scanning what appears to be a massive, towering castle of steel somewhere in the westernmost mountain range on the planet.

It’s possible that a tightbeam scan of the castle will penetrate the sensor shields, or you can enter the planetary atmosphere and attempt to infiltrate the castle. Either way, you must find out what’s happening in the complex since it has got to be the source of the signal burst you detected earlier.

If you run a tightbeam scan from the safety of the debris field proceed to section 39.
If you land on the planet’s surface and attempt to sneak into the castle proceed to section 4.
