1974 Kenner Fun Catalog: Dusty, Baby Alive, and Nancy Nonsense
I think that out of the these three pages from the Kenner 1974 catalog (see yesterday’s post) we can safely say that Baby Alive is the toy most remembered. Considering that you can buy Baby Alive toys today*, while Dusty and Nancy Nonsense have been forgotten to the randomness of the past, you can see why I completely assume that Baby Alive was the more popular of the toys shown here.
What I find even more shocking is just how tough it is to find information on Dusty and Nancy Nonsense. Not only are these toys mostly forgotten today, they also seem to be seriously in need of cataloging and online references. If you check the Google image search for “kenner dusty doll” you can find several images, but few of them are more than links to eBay pages or other sales sites. We need more info online, people!
And a Google image search for “kenner nancy nonsense” shows that the Nancy Nonsense doll also needs properly explored and shared online. Not my thing, but maybe sharing these catalog pages will inspire someone to post more info about the toys on the web.
