1979 Ad for Warlock’s Tower by the Balboa Game Company

As I continue work on The Fantasy Trip project, more and more of my time is spent in searching through old books and magazines, leading to uncovering some oddities that, while they’re not related to the project, threaten to distract me.

For example, this ad from Different Worlds #5 for Warlock’s Tower. Published by the Balboa Game Company, this is a supplement to The Complete Warlock and, from what I can tell, is more of a self-published set of house rules for D&D as it existed at the time and not a stand-alone game of its own design. Regardless of the specifics, I now want to seek out a copy; this is a game I have not read before!
