1979 Battlestar Galactica Toys in the Heroes World Catalog

Another glance at the inside of the first issue of the Heroes World catalog today with this page of Battlestar Galactica toys. Mattel didn’t make these toys for very long, but at the time these were competing with Star Wars and were even scaled to work alongside Kenner’s Star Wars action figures.

I seem to remember having that Colonial Scarab Land Vehicle, but it may be that someone else had it and I just had an opportunity to play with it many times. All of those days before we moved to Turkey in the late seventies sometimes blur together . . . hey, just how many decades has it been since 1979? Yeah, I’m allowed to forget the occasional detail, right?
