1980 Star Destroyer and Turret/Probot Playset Advertisement
I’ve mentioned before that I had the Star Destroyer playset as a kid, and seeing this November 27, 1980 newspaper ad from K-Mart for the toy helps me remember just how silly the playset really was. To really have worked out to look like a Star Destroyer it should have been the size of the G.I. Joe aircraft carrier . . .
. . . and great. Now I’m dreaming of Hasbro producing a Star Destroyer playset the same size as the U.S.S. Flagg playset. That doesn’t seem likely to happen.

Well, they do have Lego Star Wars Star Destroyer models, but those – while massive – don’t really match the size of the figures. I’m guessing that’s the best we’re going to get. Even just doing the bridge of a Star Destroyer would be a huge playset.
