1981 Children’s Palace Star Wars Ad in the Pittsburgh Press

This August 19, 1981, Children’s Palace toy ad in the Pittsburgh Press newspaper is another look at Kenner Star Wars toy rebates in action. It appears that Kenner offered many, many rebates on Star Wars action figures and vehicles, better explaining how they sustained Star Wars toy sales between the release of Empire and Jedi.

There’s probably lessons to learn from these old sales and marketing tricks of the seventies and eighties. I should pay more attention to the whys of such things and drool a little less on the toy illustrations and prices.
