1982 Ad for Coleco’s Tabletop Arcade Games
Back in the eighties we took our arcade games seriously, dumping quarter after quarter into machines and generating millions of dollars in revenue for arcade makers. And when we weren’t at a full-sized machine many of us wished to own the little arcade games like those featured in this 1982 ad in Video Games Player magazine. Coleco offered up Pac-Man, Galaxian, Donkey Kong, and Frogger in great little machines, but even the success of Cabbage Patch Kids a few years after this ad ran couldn’t keep Coleco from bankruptcy before the end of the eighties.
