1983 G.I. Joe Pack-In Catalog
I cover the joy of pack-in catalogs in both Each Sold Separately* and Action Figures Not Included*, so it should come as no surprise when I say: I love these old catalogs!!! A simple piece of paper shoved into a toy’s packaging can lead to so many dreams and, maybe, extra sales that it’s worth it to spend the money on the marketing insert. After all, how can a piece like this 1983 G.I. Joe catalog not lead to us wanting more toys?

I used to pour over those catalogs as a kid. In a time before the internet, these were the only way to know what else was out there. Having the entire line/wave on display was a dream since some of the rare figures and larger vehicles were never seen in most stores.
I still have some of these stashed around my old room in my parents house.
