1984 Advertisement for Tamiya’s Paint Markers
I recently ran across a 1984 issue of Military Modeler magazine and just had to buy it. Hey, they only wanted $1 for the magazine, and I can remember flipping through these as a kid and always thinking how very much fun it would be to assemble the kits shown in the magazine. I never quite had the patience for models, though, so the most I usually did was look at the issues and dream.
The above ad for Tamiya’s paint markers (find at Amazon.com*) comes from the magazine’s back cover, and looking at the ad I am amazed at just how many words they packed into the design. This reminds me that advertisements once didn’t shy away from words. When did things change and the words became a bad thing?
