1984 Strawberry Shortcake Club Offer from Kenner
One of the cool bits inside the Strawberry Shortcake Mapple Stirrup box was this double-sided card offering kids a chance to join Kenner’s Strawberry Shortcake club. The best part was that the club was free, and once kids received their membership kit they found not only a few free trinkets but also offers to buy more Strawberry Shortcake toys. Awesome!
I wonder if Kenner ever used this club mailing list to send out coupons, refund promotions, or more mail-away specials. Sure seems like a great use for a direct mailing list that allows you to reach your fans without spending money on television advertising.
