1985 Newspaper Advertisement for Hasbro’s G.I. Joe
December 1, 1985. Turn to page 33 in the Google newspaper archives’ copy of this issue of the Lawrence Journal-World newspaper for a K-Mart ad featuring Hasbro’s G.I. Joe toys. On sale, we find the Whale, Sharc, and Water Moccasin vehicles, all of which stand out as truly memorable G.I. Joe toys of the eighties. The ad isn’t in the best of shape, but there is definitely enough here that we can see the prices and cry. I’ll pay five times that for a boxed Whale today and be happy!
