1985 Olmec Toys’ Sun-Man Action Figures
Here’s another weird one for you guys. Masters of the Universe was big money in the mid-eighties, and others out there stepped up to design their own action figures that were inspired by Mattel’s official toys. One example of such weirdness is Olmec Toy’s Sun-Man action figures and I’ve gotta say that these are just as bad as we could hope for.

Wow! Never seen or heard of these and I had plenty of “knock-off” MOTUs in my day.
I think the guy that runs that site is a member at He-Man.org. I remember Olmec Toys mostly for their bronze bombers line. I gotta say, I like the amount of ethnic diversity in this line. The armor is sometimes silly but the sculpts look goof for the era. Interestingly, doesn’t the logo look similar to the New adventures of He-Man logo? Considering these came out in 85, that would mean that they arrived before NA. Unless the packaged images on the site were reissues later on, that makes things rather interesting…
