1986 Ad for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness Roleplaying Game
Most people discovered the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the eighties through the toys and cartoon, but there was another entry point into the franchise for those who didn’t encounter it through the mainstream points or the indie comic book: The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Other Strangeness Roleplaying Game* that was published by Palladium Books way back at the dawn of the Turtles’ existence. I played the game a handful of times in the eighties, and it was this ad from a 1986 issue of Dragon magazine that was one of my first introductions to the property. The RPG and comic, as you may know, were far grittier than the cartoon and it is this take on the Turtles that I best remember even today.
