1987 Tomy Aurora Racing Advertisement
I never have been into slot car racing. I wanted these toys when I was a kid, but there were toys I wanted more and I simply never begged my parents enough to have a slot car set and race cars around loops and curves, and over jumps, and . . . well, you get the idea. It’s not that I haven’t had a chance to play with the cars — trust me, I’ve jumped many a track — but only that I’ve not owned tracks and cars of my own.
And it’s not that ads like this 1987 Tomy race set shown in Transformers Headmasters #1 didn’t interest me. Again, it all comes down to the fact there were toys I wanted/liked more than slot car sets. Still, the offer for a free car is a pretty nifty find. And hey, Tomy was a subsidiary of Coleco? I don’t remember reading about that before. Time for research!
