1989 Ad for Fasa’s Shadowrun

When Fasa first announced the Shadowrun roleplaying game (Amazon.com search*) back in the late eighties I wasn’t completely sure what to expect. Cyberpunk + fantasy? I was a bit skeptical of the idea, but shortly after the game was released I bought a copy and started playing with friends. Hey, pretty damn sweet!

This ad from Space Gamer magazine was about all I knew of the game for the first few months, and looking back at the Larry Elmore painting on the cover I can see why I eventually overcame my skepticism and bought the game. That’s one gorgeous work of art!
