1990 Advanced Dungeons & Dragons “Computer Products” Ad
A few days ago I was talking about how the old video game ads showed artwork large and game screens small. Well, there were also ads where they didn’t even bother showing the game screen at all. As evidence for such advertising I present this Compute Magazine advertisement for SSI’s Advanced Dungeons & Dragons series.
Now this isn’t the first time I’ve mentioned the Pool of Radiance game (see this post for more), and it’s likely not the last time I’ll ever think of the game. I spent way too many hours as a kid playing the game to just forget that it existed . . .

My cousin is a number of years older than me (39 this year) and recently gave me a copy of all the old Gold Box games. Primitive by today’s standards but still amazingly fun!
