1992 DC Comics Subscription Rates
Let’s turn to the handy inflation calculator for a look at comic subscription prices from 1992. In this ad (found in Ragman #4) we see that a one-year Batman subscription cost $12 at the time. Okay, $12 is insanely low for one-year of Batman comics, right? Well, once we adjust for inflation we find that that $12 works out to about $20 in today’s dollars, about $5 less than a subscription would cost you today. So: What we find is that 1992 subscriptions aren’t quite as low as they first appear, but you do pay more today even when adjusted for inflation.
