1992 G.I. Joe Ninja Force and Air Commandos Toy Commercial
Mark Bellomo’s Ultimate Guide to G.I. Joe 1982-1994* is still the best resource in print for the classic eighties/nineties G.I. Joe action figures, but no matter how good the book is it cannot prepare you for commercials like this one.
Best part? The terrible live action sequences. Did staging and filming that cost Hasbro less than the earlier animated bits used in their toy commercials? I sure hope so, because the live action segments look really cheesy.

Oh wow…I LOVED Ninja Force. I can see why plenty of people didn’t, but I think I was just the right age for it when it came out. These live-action ads amazed me too haha!
I wrote a big article about it a few months ago: http://lupinebookclub.blogspot.com.au/2014/09/back-to-90s-gi-joe-ninja-force.html?m=1
I sense the influence of Power Rangers with this one!
I’m not sure — I think these beat Power Rangers to the air. Maybe a live-action TMNT influence?
