1997 BattleTech: Mechwarrior Trading Card Game Booster Pack

I’ve mentioned the BattleTech trading card game (Amazon.com search*) from Wizards of the Coast before, and earlier this year I encountered some old packs for sale. Back in 1996 and 1997 this was the trading card game I played most, and opening one of these packs almost twenty years later was a bit of a fun diversion today.

There was a time when I would have known exactly which card in the pack was rare, but it has been so long since I’ve played the game I cannot remember if it’s the first or last card in the stack. I suspect it’s the cards at the bottom of the 15 in the booster, but until I find a card list online I won’t know for sure.

I need to find someone in the Austin area who still plays the game, or just find some people who want to play . . . and then schedule time to game. Things are busy enough these days that nothing happens if it isn’t on the calendar.

  1. Man, this was one of my favourite CCGs back in the day, in fact, im pretty sure all the dice rolling involved help pave the way to my 40k addiction hehe.

    1. @Court – I’ve got a big box of the cards and several rulebooks. I think I may have enough BattleTech TCG cards to run a tournament for 20 players.

  2. Damn Phil, I wish I still had mine. The only cards I kept a hold of was my Wildstorm CCG, and same thing, I have multipls copies of every card.
