1997 BattleTech Trading Card Game Contest

Issue #19 of The Duelist magazine (find at Amazon.com*) featured the BattleTech trading card game on the cover, and inside the issue, Wizards of the Coast announced a BattleTech contest surrounding the then-new Mercenaries expansion (advertisement posted here, booster pack posted here).

The prize was a trip to Seattle to play the BattleTech trading card game against Wizards staffers and a chance to play the simulators. Would have been a fantastic prize to win, but all we can do twenty years later is check out the published contest and feel sad that the game is no longer available.
