1998 McFarlane Toys Product Release Schedule

This page from the 1998 McFarlane Toys product catalog (see last weekend’s post) shows us the company’s release schedule for the year. You’ll notice that the majority of the products were set for release in the second half of the year; despite success in comic stores with various Spawn action figures at the time, it is undeniable that holiday sales were — and still are! — a big part of the life of toymaking. Having new toys for Christmas is important, and we can see here how McFarlane Toys was pushing most of the toy releases to the later part of the year to capitalize on the holidays.
