2005 Star Wars “500 Figure Darth Vader”
Let me try and understand. Between 1978 and 1985, Kenner produced roughly 100 Star Wars action figures, making the rate approximately 12.5 figures each year. And then, between 1995 and 2005, another 400 Star Wars action figures were produced at a rate of about 40 figures/year. Wow. I guess inflation strikes everywhere! Well, at least there’s this 2005 Hasbro advertisement from ToyFare magazine to enjoy as we try not to think about how many more toys Hasbro made than Kenner produced during the classic era.
I remember this figure being released. I hadn’t collected Star Wars in years, but the whole set-up was pretty spectacular.
Never did buy it in the end, but good to see it again after so many years.
I have this figure! It’s not really worth anything other than what I paid for it. But it has a cool up-y/down-y slide gimmick thing going for it.
