Spotted Online – Interview With G.I. Joe Author Chuck Dixon
Comic author Chuck Dixon has been interviewed at USA Today where he talks about his work on the current G.I. Joe comic series. I was kinda hoping for some discussion about Dixon’s story in (Tales from the Cobra Wars* (review here), but instead the focus is solely on the comics.
“I remember visiting Marvel, and Larry would get cases of HISS tanks,” Dixon recalls. “All that was missing was the Christmas tree. He’d be sitting on the floor opening boxes of toys and giggling like a madman.”
Okay, hearing Dixon talk about the old days at Marvel, and knowing that Hasbro provides the authors of their various properties with toys, now has me wishing I’d taken a different path and jumped into writing comics. But it’s too late for that now — I’m clearly locked into my career — but still, just thinking about what coulda been is always a fun exercise.
But you don’t need to read me rattle on, so go read the interview at USA Today.
