This full-page advertisement comes from the October 1997 issue of The Duelist magazine (find at Amazon.com*), the Wizards of the Coast magazine of the nineties that was mostly dedicated to Magic: The Gathering, but also devoted space to other collectible card games of the time. At the time this ad was new, Wizards of the Coast was heavily supporting the BattleTech trading card game (find at Amazon.com*), even going so far as including the game in official DCI tournaments.
