3A Creating Action Figure Outfit Sets?
I’ve mentioned before how the loss of outfit sets for action figures is a bad thing — see “The Death of Action Figure Outfit Sets” — but it’s looking possible that another company is going to take a shot at outfit sets. In the latest Q&A with Ashley Wood the question of clothing sets for use with Adventure Kartel 12-inch scale action figures (Amazon.com search*) resulted in this answer from Ashley Wood:
A: ha, you know that would be great, like Barbie, just a blister packed set of clothes etc.. I am on it !
If something comes of this it could be very, very neat. You’ve probably already seen the photos I shot of the Junglevet (review here) in the Snow Rescue Set (pics here) — and maybe you saw the pics of the same toy with parts of a second outfit set added (pics here) — but if we can get official 3A outfit sets there’s a good chance the new clothes would be suitably weathered and work perfectly with the toys.
Yes, I hope something really happens with this idea. And I am still sitting here waiting for anyone to announce outfit sets for 6-inch and 7-inch scale action figures. The fact that I cannot buy outfit sets to prepare Mattel’s Masters of the Universe Classics action figures (Amazon.com search*) for new adventures is a crime against toykind.

It would be great if something did come of it, but now ThreeZero are operating independently of ThreeA once more I worry if Ash’s dreams will get the same development time they used to.
@Bighatdino – I’m hoping hard here that the only reason 3A announced this again is that there’s been some serious movement on the idea. But I worry you’re probably right.
