3A: Using Your Money to Not Finish Toys
Today’s 3AVOX carried with it the news that the World War Robot* toy producer has created and completed a new 12-inch scale action figure that they’re promising will be delivered by Christmas . . . despite the fact that they are months behind on finishing toys that have already been paid for.
Lolli the XXMAS TQ goes onsale December 1st at 9-00AM Hong Kong time, not US, not UK, but Hong Kong, so set your clocks accordingly !Lolli is premade and will be in your hands before Christmas ( pending screw ups by postal systems ). 100 bucks shipped, and please remember, these are not pre-orders, they are made and are limited! Be early and work that F5 at Bambalandstore.com if you’re so inclined. STRICTLY ONE PER CUSTOMER!
I have been annoyed and frustrated by 3A before, but this goes too far. Rather than finishing the toys that they have taken money for — my oldest unfulfilled pre-order is from April 27, 2011 for the WWRp De Plume 2 pack — they have instead directed their resources to creating a new toy that they’ll offer for sale on December 1st. That means that it’s a pleasant surprise for fans looking for a Christmas gift, but every single one of us waiting on pre-ordered toys has effectively paid for the creation of these toys.
This year I have dramatically scaled back on my 3A purchases and I am happier for it. The months and months of waiting is frustrating enough, but this latest move goes over the line.

Wow, that’s ballsy. I would do a chargeback immediately.
The mini de plumes are shipped out, it’s been mentioned for a bit that they’d ship out late Nov. This weeks 3Avox doesn’t show them listed which means that they’ve cleared off the shipping calendar and are on their way. As for the Lolli Christmas TQ those were more than likely built along with the production of the Princess and Vanilla Pod TQ’s, those were for sale a week before the mini de plumes and have already shipped / been delivered so it would make sense for the Lollis to be ready at this point. Plus it’s always been the case that 3A does something special at the holidays and has a few toys that are already made.
The good news is that many preordered items are already scheduled to ship and clearing out now. Hopefully soon you’ll be able to review those items you ordered instead of having to wait, as it’s always more fun to read reviews of items in hand.
@John Maddening – I e-mailed the company and asked for an explanation on what’s up. It’s the weekend so I don’t expect a response until next week.
@anubis2night – Thanks for the calm and well-articulated response. I agree that reviews and photos are a lot more fun to read than just about anything else. The good news is that my Heavy Bramble has now arrived; I may open that box this weekend.
I’ve really appreciated your reporting on 3A. It’s helped me temper my expectations appropriately.
