“50% Off All Star Wars Micro Collection Action Toys” in 1983
December 20, 1983. I’ve shared some old newspaper ads for Kenner’s Star Wars Micro Collection before (search battlegrip.com), and the toys even made an appearance in my book of Star Wars newspaper ads (Collect These Figures and Accessories*), but those Google newspaper archives are so deep that I keep uncovering advertisements for the line. And that’s a good thing; it will be a sad day when all of those old ads have been located and shared with the world.

I have finally managed to collect ads with line art for every single release of the Micro Collection, including the Sears and JC Penney exclusives. The Snowspeeder was especially tough because I I get the sneaky suspicion that Kenner never produced and/or distributed official line art for the Falcon and Snowspeeder. I don’t have the Kenner ’82 repro art catalog so I don’t know for sure, but what I have been able to find suggests that the retailers had to come up with something themselves.
