Hot Toys’ Brad Pitt 12-Inch Scale Action Figure
Last month we got a look at an unofficial Brad Pitt 12-inch scale action figure (mentioned here) based on Aldo Raine, Pitt’s character from Inglourious Basterds*. Now we get a look at the official action figure of the same character, scheduled for release from Hot Toys later this year.
“Hot Toys is delighted to present the 1/6th scale Lt. Aldo Raine collectible figure from the Inglourious Basterds movie. This is the first-licensed collectible figure of Brad Pitt which fully realizes his likeness in the movie.”
“The 1/6th scale Lt. Aldo Raine specially features: Newly sculpted head with authentic likeness of Brad Pitt as Lt. Aldo Raine in the movie; Movie-accurate facial expression with detailed wrinkles and skin texture; Real-like hair style, beard and face hair; TrueType body with approximately 30cm tall; 34 points of articulations; Three pairs of interchangeable palms (one pair of relaxed palms, one pair for holding gun and one pair for holding blade); Each piece of head sculpt is specially hand-painted.”
“Costume & Accessories: Jacket with worn-out edges, sweater, scarf, trousers and hat; Leather-like belt with gun holster and blade pouch; Leather-like long boots and bag; Flannelette-surfaced water bottle; Figure stand with movie logo and Lt. Aldo Raine nameplate”
“Weapons: Rifle, machine gun and pistol; Large and small blade”
That’s a hell of a face sculpt. If Hot Toys can pull this off in the actual production run then this is going to be one of the better action figure representations of an actor that we’re likely to see in 2010. There’s a category for a “best of year” award for toys, the “most realistic representation of an actor” award. Hmmmmm. Now I’m trying to decide which action figure I bought in 2009 would be most deserving of that award.

Hot Toys sculpts care me. It’s better than wax figures. They’re out of control.
