Wampa!

Gotta shout out a huge thanks to Poe Ghostal for his recent Pic of the Day post that reminded us all that the classic Star Wars Wampa was a fun toy. This massive action figure was sold in a box, rather than on a card, but that didn’t make us love it any less.

And Poe even took it so far as to link to the classic commercial from the eighties. And that, naturally, led to me wasting a few moments tracking down other Wampa links and images.

• The Star Wars Collector has photos of the box, a catalog shot, and some information on the toy.
  
• This YouTube video isn’t toy-related, but it does show the Wampa and Snowtrooper costumes from the classic and special editions.
  
• Action Figure of the Day’s Wampa entry is as entertaining as ever.

So enjoy the Wampa on this Saturday morning. And don’t forget that if you want to go really Wampa crazy there’s always the 12-inch scale Wampa action figure*, and the $300 Ambush on Hoth statue** is out there for the super insane in the audience.
