Spotted Online – Mattel Taunting Me
I’ve not been quiet about my frustration with Mattel’s DC Universe Infinite Heroes series. 3.75-inch action figures are great, because they’re small enough that you can fit several into a single display but they’re large enough to look cool, but Mattel’s attempts at the scale just . . . well, they suck.
Action Figure Times has posted photos that have me cursing Mattel more than usual. A Batman Beyond three-pack, with the aged Bruce Wayne, is just going to drive me insane when I see it in Target. I do not want these, because I know the figures are going to be inferior, but I want these because the characters — and photos — look great.
It’s just not fair.
It’s totally frustrating that this is the kind of thing we’re getting on the smaller scale from Mattel for DC. I mean, not just with Old Wayne, but stuff like the Gotham 3-Pack should have been awesome, or even the Hawkman 3-pack. But argh, these are inferior articulation models (and sometimes sculpts). There’s also the inconsistent design styles, sometimes I get an “animated” feel from the toys, sometimes it’s a more conventional type. Argh.
