It’s Halloween weekend, and that means it’s time to dig into my childhood memories and remember just how much I enjoyed the Halloween specials on TV. That was back in an age before VCRs, because I am old. But not as old as Peanuts, and while digging for goodies to share I ran across this Peanuts Charlie Brown Then and Now Figure Set* at Entertainment Earth. Hey, that head is almost as big and round as my own!
The year 2010 marks the 60th anniversary of Charles Schulz’s enduring creation Peanuts. When the strip debuted in 1950, the look and style of the characters were different than today. All of the many licensed products have reflected today’s look; few, if any, are in the original style. Now the original look is back with this twin-pack of small vinyl figures. This set shows Charlie Brown as he was in the old days and what he’s like now. Poses are taken straight from the strips, and the specific panels are depicted on the packaging. Each figure measures approximately 4-inches tall and is on a grass-green base. Sculpted by the great talents at Yoe! Studio.
