Poking around one of the best fantastical and unusual art blogs online, A Journey Round My Skull, is always a fun diversion from life. The site is packed with artwork — primarily from other nations and almost always from other eras — and it’s always a treat to read the latest post.

Well, now I direct you to another post at the site: Treatise on Faeries is a short essay by Edward Gauvin (blog) that is packed with gorgeous artwork by Dorothy Lathrop and focuses on a 20-page pamphlet that was written by Fernand Dumont. This is quite entertaining and, unsurprisingly, the artwork is simply astounding.
