See this post at Infinite Hollywood for all of the details, but the short form is simply that a group of fans have come together and released a remake of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #1 as a free PDF. Impressive, and a sign of what can be done when hardcore fans come together online.
And I think Newt says it best when he points out that:
Even if you don’t like every page, credit has to be given to the labor of love that all involved gave to this. It’s such a unique take on the origin of the Turtles and it makes me wish Mirage had been able to do stuff like this for the 25th anniversary.
