Reading – Super #1 Robot

Actually, I’m not so sure if “reading” is exactly what I’m doing with this book. Super #1 Robot, covering Japanese robot toys from 1972 through 1982, is loaded with colorful, perfectly clear photos of some great robot toys that I could never afford. It’s sad, but I’ll have to settle for this book instead of trying to collect dozens of 30+ year old robot toys.

There are some words in the book — an introduction that discusses the history of the toys as well as an afterword — but it’s the page after page of toy robot photos that really sells this book. You need to at least flip through this book if you get the chance.

For a peek at several photos, check out the photographer’s Super #1 Robot page.
