Masters of the Universe “The Power and the Honor” Art Book is Incredible

Yesterday when I got home the Power and the Honor Foundation’s new book — reservations taken here — was waiting for me. This is exactly the sort of book I expected to see from Mattel. Packed with toy concept art from the early days of the line this is one book that every Masters of the Universe fan (and every toy fan) should own. And it’s even a well-crafted hardcover!

  1. I agree. This book is amazing. I can’t stop flipping through it.
It’s truly a testament to how brilliant of a toyline Masters was, that the unreleased concepts are still genius.

  2. WOW, nice book Phil! I’m going to have to acquire this one as I love old concept artwork. After reading an article or two in Tomart’s several years ago, it’s amazing how much stuff was thought up for the MotU line, but never got past the concept-sketch stage. If Mattel ever does a re-deco for Grizzlor, I’d love to see him with a black face & black fur how it’s shown on one of the sample pages.

(OH & to touch back on the Air-Raiders entry, I’ll try to take some pictures of it when I’m over my parent’s house later today, I’ll even bring some Glyans to pop in there.)

  3. I bought the book at NYCC, just to save time.
Well worth it for any MOTU fan who has interest in the history of the line, if only for the pics.
