Glyos Expansion . . . and death.

It’s a new day for fans of Onell Design and the Glyos System toy series. Why’s that? Because today we get:

  • All new Buildman figures. Eight different color variants in total, and at $8 each. There’s even a package deal to save a few bucks on a set of seven figures.
  • Phase Arms! And lots of them. $4 for each pack of two Phase Arms and two Gobon Blasters.
  • Plus, a new game. Play through, win, and make the right choice at the end to unlock a secret session of the store where you can buy a great Builman variant.
  • And check the Warp Zone! Don’t make the mistake that I made.

Unfortunately, this day also has a little sadness for Glyos System fans. The Junk Shop, a way to score lots of useful bits, is closed down. It’s not all bad news, though, because the Web Log tells us:

“Even though the days of the Junk Shop seem to be numbered, something is coming to take its place.”

So please don’t be angry with me that I just got nine Junk Shop figures in the mail. Sorry, guys. I didn’t mean to deplete the forces. This announcement does make me question the Junk Shop review that I was working on. What do you think? Should I go ahead and review three Junk Shop figures — like I had already planned — or is it better to skip this review since the figures are no longer available?

  1. My thoughts: hold off on the review, unless you want to do a “Retrospective” piece on it…

  2. I’m curious to see what you would say about the Junk Shop stuff, so definitely do it, but as R. said, time it however you see fit.

  3. Well… seeing as you review older toys that aren’t available at retail currently, I don’t see where a review of a Junk Pile is any different. Gopher it!
