Neon Genesis Evangelion* is one of those series that I’ve never watched . . . but that hasn’t stopped me from loving the look of the mecha. And now I see this Evangelion Unit 01 Tamashii Spec Kakusei Version Figure* over at Entertainment Earth and I start to think about what an entire army of Evangelion mecha action figures would look like. Pardon me while I gouge out my eyes to protect myself . . .

The long-awaited theatrical-version Evangelion mecha joins the cutting-edge Tamashii Spec series. This nicely detailed 8-inch tall Kakusei Version Figure is made of a combination of die-cast metal and plastic to create the articulation and balance that are hallmarks of Tamashii Spec. The head replicates the final screaming battle scene, and the left arm features clear parts as shown in the movie. Open-palm replaceable hand parts duplicate the climax of the film, and additional parts are included to reproduce the awakening scene. A display stand is also included. EVA!
