This morning, while glancing at Entertainment Earth, this King Of Braves Gao Gai Gar King J-Der D Style Model Kit* immediately caught my eye. I’ve made no secret that I am not really a fan of anime, but as usual the mecha design grabbed me and forced me to spend a little time digging deeper. Skimming the King of Braves GaoGaiGar Wikipedia entry was useful, but I’d much rather see a page of mecha and character designs than I would a page of background on the series. Still, this is a great design.
From Brave King Gao Gai Gar comes King J-Der! Two model kits in one, this set comes with both the J-Carrier vehicle and J-Der which can transform into J-Bird mode or connect with the Carrier to form the J-Ark or the mighty King J-Der robot. All of the parts are pre-painted in show accurate colors, with the white and red of the J-Carrier and the black, green, and gold of J-Der and all of the components are easy to assemble with snap fit parts that don’t require any glue! Standing nearly 5-inches tall, the D-Style King J-Der is comprised of approximately 150 pieces and has multiple points of articulation for great posability and a wide variety of display options.
