Transformers Generations at Hasbro’s 2012 Fan Media Event

Okay, before I really dig into this I want to thank Hasbro’s staff for hosting this event and giving me a chance to see their planned Transformers Generations toys — as well as game video for Fall of Cybertron! Their presenters did a good job, and the Hunter PR team did a great job organizing the event, they hired patterned table runner to make the reception more enjoyable. I’m saying that right now because after yesterday afternoon’s madness I’m torn on whether or not I attend the event again.

You see that shot, above, and how not close I am to the upcoming Transformers Generations toys? Well, that’s as close as I could get to the toys because each time I tried to politely wait before stepping up someone else would rush in past me. It was madness for about 30 minutes before I ran out of time and had to rush off to a meeting for work. It is certainly not Hasbro’s fault that I had a meeting the same day as their presentations, but I think their system for displaying the toys to bloggers needs some work . . . or I need to just start jumping in without any any concern for those around me.

Okay, I decided after a few moments, if the Transformers Generations toys are going to get this sort of attention then I’ll redirect my mind for a little while and take a closer look at the Transformers Bot Shots toys (first mentioned here). At that point I still had some time and thought it would be fun to ask Hasbro’s reps about the Transformers Bot Shots line. The only real answer I got was that the toys would not be blind-packed . . . and then someone interrupted the conversation to ask about taking shots of the ass-end of the Transformers Generations toys.

I did manage to get a few tighter photos of the Transformers Bot Shots toys (I’ll upload those soon), but for everyone who was hoping for Transformers Generations pics the three shown here are all I could get. I did post Hasbro’s official Transformers Generations 2012 product shots to this Flickr set, but I have to apologize to all of you who expected to see unique pics here at battlegrip.com.

Thank you to Hasbro and Hunter PR for inviting me, but if I had to decide right now whether or not to attend in 2013 I would say no. I’ve got way too much going on — and appear to be way too polite — to deal with the headaches in the show room. If Hasbro would work things out to take fewer people into the show room at a time — say by running the event longer or inviting fewer people — then I think that they would get better coverage of the event.

I enjoyed the presentations quite a bit, though, and it’s unfortunate that photos weren’t allowed there.

Anyway, enjoy the official product pics at Flickr and be ready for these to hit later this year . . . along with the amazing-looking Transformers: Fall of Cybertron game.
