12″ Vintage Death Star Droid Up for Pre-Orders
I have yet to buy any of the Gentle Giant (website, Twitter) Star Wars vintage jumbo action figures, but this Death Star Droid at their site is making me kinda think it’s time to try one or two action figures in the series.
The toy is available for pre-orders now, and seeing it reminds me of the time in 1982 when I bought the original toy from another kid in my class. You see, at the time we were learning about economics and budgets and we all had “checkbooks” and “accounts” and could earn more funds for our accounts by completing homework, scoring well on tests, and winning in trivia contests. We also had a class yard sale one day where we sold items for this imaginary money . . . and it was there that I bought my original Death Star Droid. Too bad he is long gone . . .
Just like they were when you were a kid, only BIGGER! Gentle Giant continues on with their new line of vintage Star Wars Action figure reproductions with the release of this classic Death Star Droid!!!
Digitally scanned from mint 3 3/4†Kenner originals and reproduced to a substantial 12†tall. Nothing has been overlooked. Roto and injection molded and made of durable plastics, this jumbo figure is fully vac-metallized, just like the original!
That’s not all, this classic Kenner creation comes packaged on a 1977, Star Wars inspired blister card, featuring original front and “20 back†artwork, in a re-sealable plastic outer clam shell to help protect and display!
