IG-86 Leads a Squad of Terminators Into the Swamp
Recently, there was an IG-86 review at Articulated Discussion, by Clark, that showed me just how cool the IG-86 Assassin Droid action figure is. Well, since he’s a droid — and since it’s Robot Fever Week — I went out and grabbed my own.
This morning, IG-86 took two T-700s (reviewed here), a T-R.I.P. (reviewed here), and a T-1 into the swamps on patrol. They encountered only minor resistance and were successful in clearing the wetlands around my home.
Thank you, Clark, for your review. You sold me on this guy and he looks awesome.
Cool pic.
@updatedude – Thanks. I’m trying to take more interesting photos these days. While out for a bike ride this morning I noticed that the creek running through the park was down a little so I rushed back with some toys and played around for a little while.
My own IG-86 review is coming up later this week. He’s very neat.
Great pick. I’m glad you picked this guy up and that you’re happy with him. Do you ride mountain or roadie?
@clark – I’ve got a a pretty basic bike that I’d be scared to take off of the road. 🙂
This… THIS is what toys were made to do. Great picture, man!
This picture really takes me back to my childhood, when a hollowed out tree stump in our backyard was the perfect playset for my joes.
I owed you a couple pictures Phillip, so here they are. This is the Lancer next to IG-86.
The Lancer’s articulation is a bit funky and he doesn’t stand as well as the 86. You’re not going to get the cool dynamic poses out of him that you will on 86. Personally, I’d just buy a few more 86’s if I were you.
He does have a lot mroe mechanical sculpting on him which is cool but it tends to look silly as you move him around, plus it hinders some articulation. He feels very frail as well.
But for what it’s worth I ended up with a couple of these Lancers and they’re alright. I’ve yet to crack open my VOTC IG-88s but they don’t have the cool articulation of the other either.
Notice my grey guns.

@Newton – Thanks for the pics. He looks great! Now I need to grab one of these.
