Kickstarter – STUDS, LEGO Trading Cards
How can we tell that there’s too much going on over at Kickstarter to catch it all? Well, this set of trading cards focused on LEGO artists — STUDS Collectible Trading Cards — ends in eight hours and I’m only now finding it. The fact that something this cool made it so close to ending without me even knowing of its existence is one indication that there’s a hell of a lot of activity at Kickstarter. Anyway, check it out.
Each pack will include 8 trading cards and each box will include 28 packs. With each box you are guaranteed to get 1 complete base set, 1 complete poster card set, and 4 micro chase cards. There will be 15 Super Rare chase cards inserted throughout the run of boxes. Also look for randomly inserted artist-autographed cards! These will vary from 1 to 5 cards per box.

I find it a little funny that when he says “original artwork” in the video, the four sets immediately referenced would be licensed from Lord of the Rings, Star Trek, Star Wars, and Back To The Future. A lot of the work shown in the set wouldn’t be original. Oscar Mayer, Zelda, Colbert Report… they would all need to be licensed before becoming official sets which is probably why LEGO hasn’t made them.
If the Lowell bio preview is any indicator of the rest… get a new writer. And it’s “Lowell Sphere.” Not “Lowell Sphere”.
