Power Attack Batman Toys Are Selling
I stopped in Wal-Mart yesterday where, like I’ve seen in other Wal-Marts and Targets around Austin, the Power Attack Batman toys (Amazon.com search*, at Entertainment Earth*) were stripped down pretty bare. Each store I stop in has fewer and fewer Power Attack Batman toys on the shelves, so either I’m buying them all in my sleep or someone else out there is as excited about the line as I am.
Based on the number of young kids I’ve seen picking up toys in the stores I’m gonna say that Mattel has done a good thing here and found their target audience. I know I’ve gone on and on about how cool the toys are — Thermo Attack Batman review here, Toxic Takedown Batman review here, and Battle Gauntlet Batman review here — but there’s no way that it’s just collectors who are cleaning out the shelves.
The price, I’m betting, also has something to do with the sales. As a kid I know I would go for one of these toys of a 3.75-inch Marvel or G.I. Joe figure for the exact same price. These really are simply fantastic and fun toys. And I hope that they keep succeeding.
