Will There Ever be a Zombkin?
It has now been over eight months since 3A Toys took my money for the Zombkin action figure set (mentioned here) and there’s still no sign of the toys. This is exactly why I sold off so much of my 3A collection and stopped ordering. The company is terrible about meeting delivery dates — March was the promise for this set — and is unapologetic about the issue.
Combine their inability to meet a deadline with the quality control problems — the broken Blind Cowboy set (photos here) sits in the closet still broken — and there is no reason for me to support this company. At this point it is down to waiting for the Zombkin and then everything I have ever ordered from 3A will have been delivered to me.
Hopefully the toy will arrive before Halloween. And I hope it is not a sticky, stinky, busted piece of garbage. Actually, I should say “toys” since it is a set of two. If it ever arrives.
I loved 3A, and had been ordering from Bambalandstore since the original Dirty Deeds Bertie Pipebomb was released. I say had because I’m done. The delays on even the simplest figures, like the WWRp Large Martins, and the QC issues, mixed with differences between pre-production images and final product, just got too much for me.
I’ve received the last items I ordered from 3A, and I’m not going to order again. I think if I get any more 3A toys it will be via stores or scalpers on eBay because at least then I’ll know it’s in stock and whether it has problems.
If you want to sell me the Zomkin when you get it Ill buy it off you?
I too purchased the first 3A(and then Big Shot Toy Works) Bertie The Pipe Bomb Desert Rat. For $300,I received a mecha that had crumbling faux leather components, chipped paint, parts that did not fit together as they should, and of course, a metal pin to shove up Bertie’s arse. This should have been a harbinger of doom, but I became a 3A member the first year anyway, and played the insufferabe waiting game for several purchases while Ashley Wood and company went to Vegas or something with my money. All the products from 3A took too long to arrive, had quality control issues, plus the blatant re-use of parts/bodies. Goodbye 3A/Ashley…you had a great idea with terrible execution.
They actually posted on the blog yesterday that Zombkin will be shipping out next week. It had better be spec-frakin’-tacular after the wait.
What bugs me most is that they had the RVHK show where, counting variants, there was something like 20 exclusives!
So…the hatchery can whip those out but we’re still waiting for orders we already PAID for 8 months ago? That is BS.
If they’re having trouble meeting their deadlines, then maybe not producing 20 something toys for what is a significantly small portion of their overall customer base and instead focus on orders that are already paid for and waiting would be the wiser way to go. Geez. Just so frustrating.
I’d love to get my Zombs and the replacement thumb for my Steve-J, which has now been 9 weeks since I was told they were producing it. I email CS once a month and they just repeat, “Please be patient.”
3A bites off more than it can chew. taking orders and receiving money and waiting half a year- and getting a ‘please be patient’ response is unacceptable. greed is going to bring this company down. combined with Wodd’s arrogant comments like ‘if you don’t like it, f*ck off’ don’t help any.
make products first. they will sell. stop taking money first if its going to be a long time coming. even a partial payment option is better and a great gesture of good faith that they are honest. just saying. all this fall on deaf 3A ears. people are getting tired, and it will catch up to 3A.
