Transformers Masterpiece Thundercracker and Optimus Prime
I’m returning from five nights on the east coast where I spent a few days working and then a day with Matt Doughty (Onell Design) and Jesse Moore (Rawshark). While traveling from store to store to store we came across these Transformers Masterpiece toys at ToysRUs. That Optimus Prime looks cool, but between the lack of luggage space and $140 price tag I passed on him.

@Poe – Sorry. It was a very last minute trip and I only had 12 hours free yesterday. In the Hartford airport now to return to Austin. I didn’t fly into Boston this time; tried something new.
$140!!! that’s nuts. Doesn’t seem right it was $99 on release and TRU have just been raising the price….. oh well, still waiting for Prime to hit the UK, hopefully at a nice price point to keep my MP Grimlock company.
TRU’s website had them for sale for a short while for $120, they’ll probably do that again, so thats an option for those poor souls whose TRUs are charging $140 before tax. But likely, these fellows will be everywhere in time for the holiday season, so I doubt anyone is gonna miss out on this guy.
@Philip – It’s just kinda funny, I actually had a summit of sorts with Rustin Parr of OAFE.net yesterday, who was in town from CA.
By obsessively checking TRU.com, I was able to score an Optimus. Free shipping, too! That Thundercracker is 75 bucks on their site, last time I checked.
Ha. Those are the prices at my TRU as well. You must have been in an “affluent†area to get those bump up prices! Thundy should be like 69.99 and Prime should be 119.99.
